Episode 74

Abandoned buildings & farmland innovation for successful, sustainable business - Thomas Kloepfer

Ever wondered about taking over abandoned farmland in Japan as well as old, abandoned houses to recreate it?

Thomas Kloepfer is always inspiring and in this talk he explains his philosophy for no-till farming as well as how he thinks about running a sustainable business.

We start the talk at his latest project Shikiji - to pull from the land- which he has exciting plans for and is steadily making progress each time I visit. Then we go over to his farmlands and he talks about the various issues of running a natural, regenerative farm in Japan.

Find out more about Thomas and Kaori's activities, sign up for your own tour of the farm and facilities or order a subscription box of great organic veggies if you live in Japan from Pitchfork Farms.
